👮 Hartlepool Rural Patrols 🚓

During the evening of Saturday 15 August into the early hours of Sunday 16 August, officers from the Hartlepool Neighbourhood Policing Team carried out targeted patrols across Hartlepool's rural communities in response to concerns raised by residents, farmers and landowners.

Patrols took place throughout Hart, Rural West, Fens & Greatham and Owton Manor wards, including the villages of Hart, Elwick, Dalton Piercy, Greatham and Newton Bewley.

Using a combination of high-visibility vehicle patrols, visits to local farms and support from the police drone, officers focused on issues that have recently been reported by the rural community, including: 
Off-road bikes and quads
Poaching and hare coursing
Theft of agricultural equipment
Fly tipping
Anti-social behaviour in secluded locations
Illegal drug use
 

We're pleased to report that no incidents of note were identified during the operation.

Whilst that may not make for the most exciting update, it is reassuring news for those who live and work in our rural communities. We know from speaking to residents and farmers that visible police patrols are important, and we will continue to carry out both regular and dedicated operations to deter criminality and protect our countryside.
